Your Safety and Privacy
It is a privilege to help you with your devices and your personal information. We take that seriously.
We are all based in Canada. Every one of our Tech Concierges has at least 7 years of experience in IT and software and passes a police background check before helping anyone.
How We Keep You Safe
- We only connect to your device when you say yes.
- You can see everything we do on your screen.
- We disconnect at the end of every session.
- Calls are recorded for safety and quality.
- We follow Canadian privacy law and never sell your information.
What We Will Never Do
- Call you without warning and ask to access your computer.
- Ask for your bank card number or banking password.
- Ask you to pay with gift cards.
- Rush you or make you feel foolish.
If someone says they are from Friendly Fix and does any of these things, hang up and call us at (416) 555 0100.
Staying Safe Online
Scams aimed at older adults are common in Canada. The good news is that most of them follow the same few tricks.
Watch for these signs
- A message says you must act right now.
- Someone asks you to pay with gift cards, Bitcoin or a wire transfer.
- A pop up on your screen says your computer has a virus and gives you a number to call.
- A caller says they are from the bank, Canada Revenue Agency or the police and asks for personal details.
- A family member texts from a new number and needs money fast.
Not sure about a message? Do not click or reply. Call us and we will check it with you. If you already clicked, call us. We will help make sure your device is cleaned up and safe to use again.
Rose says
"Never let anyone onto your computer if they called you first. Friendly Fix only connects when you called first or booked a time."
